Foreword:

Ever wonder what God might have to say to YOU today? Here are things to ponder, and things to receive into your heart. If you have a question, put it in the comments. I respond as much as I can.

A note for all my readers: I've been experimenting with YouTube videos for Bible teaching, and now I'm working my way through the New Testament. I encourage you to subscribe to my YouTube channel for better coverage. I'm still writing, of course, and my written posts appear here.

Be someone I can talk to

My Son Jesus said that I hide Myself from the "wise and prudent." That seems like a contradiction, doesn't it? It's not.  Some people are their own "gods," and think they don't need My wisdom. So how could I talk to someone like that? They are like a man named Nabal in My Book, of whom it was said, "He is such a Son of Belial (an arrogant devil), that nobody can speak to him."
My Son Jesus also said that I reveal things to "babies," and He meant, "humble enough to hear." In another place, He said "humble yourself as a little child," meaning, "be a humble person who will listen." It's hard to do that, I know.  Your world is filled with wrong examples--with people who "show off" how smart they are, and people who always want to tell, rather than hear.  But I give My best secrets to the people who will stop, listen for Me to speak, and then listen to what I have to say. You can be that person, if you want to be.  The first step is to say in your heart, "The Father is greater than I am. I want to really listen to Him." And then, when I start talking, don't shut Me up.

It's never just a sunrise.

It never is.  I tell you things through the sun, the moon, the stars, the plants, My other creatures, the life you live--I talk to you through what I made. I made you to rule over the earth, and I put messages to you in every part of the world.  Sometimes all they say is, "I made this," but more often than not my messages are much more specific, like finding a note in a hole in a tree-trunk--written specially for you. You have to look, though, and you have to see the world as I meant you to see it--as the world I made, including the universe, what little I let you see of it, and as the world I designed to tell you about Me.  I have many children who actually do listen to the world, and see the world, as one of My ways of talking to them.  If you don't, you have much to learn. So what does this morning's sunrise tell you?  In general, it tells you that My world runs in a regular way, that I made it to follow the rules I set up for it. It tells you how much I love beauty--for whether the sunrise reflects the frozen beauty of the snow or the glad dew of a spring morning, it is beautiful.  The sun comes up every day, and like the sun, I am with you every day, to bathe you in my warmth and strength.  The sun is also a fire, and I am that, too--a consuming fire.  The difference is that you never need to hide from Me; indeed, you cannot. If you want to hear Me speak to you in the world, then you must learn that I am in the world, present right here beside you.  One of My servants said, "In Him we live, and move, and have our being," and I'm here, always speaking gently (or sometimes, forcefully). I am the true Ruler of the world. Even the lions know this, for they seek their food from Me every night.
If you want to see and hear me, you must listen, and it takes time. You can hear Me, if you want, and see My hands at work in almost everything. A child's innocent look can tell you how to relate to me. A growing sprig of mint can tell you how to grow up in Me, and how perfectly I've designed you to fulfill your life's dreams. The stars can tell you of My might and greatness, but this is not all. If you listen, I am actually telling you things that are "just yours." But you must look, listen, and be quiet to find My messages. It's a bit like a treasure hunt. My words to you are there, and they are clear, but you must pay attention.
So use your eyes and ears and hands and mouth--all your senses--to find Me. I am speaking, if you are listening.

I listen

Good morning, sons and daughters!
Did you know I'm always listening?  Always.  There is never a moment when my attention is turned from you, when I cannot hear you, when I'll ignore you.  When I gave my words to my servants long ago, I told them this, and they wrote down how I listen. Here's what some of them said:
"Call on Me, and I'll answer you."
"Then they call on the LORD, (that's Me) and He saves them [from disaster]."
"There's not a word in my mouth (said David) that You don't know."
In other words, I am always listening.  I never get tired of you, and I want you to talk to Me.
You often talk to me like you need to use some special words, or some special form, and that's OK, I listen then, too--but you don't need any special words.  I listen when you say, "Help!" or, "Thank You!" or just, "That's beautiful!" What I'm saying is that I can tell when you're talking to me, and you don't have to use special words. I'm here, and I know you.  Language doesn't matter. I understand them all. Formality doesn't matter.  I don't need it.  I hear the little boy or girl who can hardly talk yet just as well as I hear the educated man or woman who forms perfect sentences--and I hear you, every time.
I always listen. I don't always do what you ask (when you're asking, which is mostly what you do), but I always listen. You children often refer what I do for you as "miracles," or "deeds of power," but for me, they are as simple as saying that it's to happen that way, because I can make anything happen at any time, in any way I please.  I don't, though.  I normally follow my own rules (gravity, for example), and only sometimes change rules like that.
Sometimes you forget that I like to hear you "just talk" and tell me things, or that I like to be thanked (who wouldn't?) when I do nice things for you, like show you a wonderful sunset or sunrise, or help you with a test, or find someone for you--or even help you find a parking space--or your bike, when it's lost. I also love it when you recognize me in words and singing (that's called "worship" by most of you), and tell about the things I do, the way I am, the friendship I show.
I love you, dear children. And I love to hear from you.

I love you

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. "I have loved you," says the LORD. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The Father himself loves you because you have loved me [Jesus] and have believed that I came from God.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God says to us, I want you to know that I love you.  I show that in many ways.  I give the seasons of the year so that you can live and enjoy the world I have made for you.  I take care of you by giving you food to eat, and work to do.  I help you learn and do new things.  I put loving people in your life.  I give you rain, and sunshine, and fruit trees, and forests, and rivers, and all the world around you to enjoy. I gave you permission, long ago, to fill the earth with other people like you, and to enjoy its fruits, and to tame it so that you could use it.  It's Mine, of course, but it's yours on loan.
Most of all, I sent My own Dear Son  to lead you back to Me, and to give you the opportunity to live with Me forever.
I am always thinking about you, always seeing you, always loving you, and even though you may have some very hard times because of the evil in the world, and in your own heart, I am here to see you through it, and to give you a path back to Me, if you want it.  It's not necessarily an easy path, but it's very carefully laid out, so if you seek it, you can't miss it.
If you want to know more about how I care for you and watch over you, My son David wrote a special Psalm about this. In the English (Christian) Bible, it's Psalm 139.   He's praying the words to Me, but I might as well be saying them to you.  Why not read it today? It's not long, and you'll see what I mean.
Love you always,
The Father.

Foreword

Foreword:
This blog is designed to put "you" in the center of God's message; it focuses on God's current words to you, Dear Reader, and what He wants to say to you each day.
"The Father" was one of Jesus' terms for God His Father, and most closely expresses His relationship with the universe.
He is "Father" in the sense that He brought the world we live in, and all of us, into existence--He's the Creator.
He is "Father" in the sense that God the Father is "the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
He is "Father" in the sense that He invites us into a special relationship with Him, which comes through Jesus Christ.
This blog is Christian, but all peoples and all faiths are invited. You'll find something special for your life, each day.
